Starbucks is planning to do their bit towards a greener earth by getting rid of plastic straws. This comes just a week after McDonald’s announced that they will be completely stopping the usage of plastic straws in UK and Ireland.
The announcement from Starbucks says that they will eliminate the usage of plastic straws by 2020. As an alternative, the coffee chain will roll out new lids designed for cold drinks. The new lids will be first tested in Seattle and Vancouver.
The Seattle government had recently made a huge decision to ban plastic straws and utensils from eateries. This was done to reduce the plastic pollution in the ocean.
