Burger King makes move to use antibiotic free chicken

Restaurant chain Burger King has decided to make use of Chicken which has been raised without antibiotics. The decision was made considering the impact of ‘critically important’ antibiotics to the human body.

“We believe that it is important to reduce the use of antibiotics important for human medicine in order to preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics in both veterinary and human medicine,” The brand said in a statement.

There was an alarming concern over the usage of such drugs as it had been a major cause of life threatening infections.  KFC has also taken up a similar move and plans to avoid chickens raised with antibiotics by 2019.
