A burger King Employee, who was fired by the food chain over 50 cents worth of food in British Columbia just won a huge settlement regarding the situation.
The 55 year-old Usha Ram from Fiji is the protagonist and Ram was accused of taking home food without paying for it. Usha, however, claimed that she had the permission from the store manager. The judge rules that Usha was fired due to a misunderstanding and awarded her $21,000 for lost salary and $25,000 in aggravated damages for the “unreasonable and unduly insensitive manner” of her termination.
The value of the food that she took home was just 50 cents.
