Eating alone is not the best experience out there. Some people love it, and some hate it. Either way, there is a trick with which you can make your food taste better if you are eating alone.
According to a new study, sitting in front of the mirror or taking a picture of yourself when eating alone can enhance the taste of the food if you are eating alone.
The idea behind this is to trick out brain into believing that we are not eating alone, in turn helping us to give a better dining experience.
“Studies have shown that for older adults, enjoying food is associated with quality of life, and frequently eating alone is associated with depression and loss of appetite. Our findings therefore suggest a possible approach to improving the appeal of food, and quality of life, for older people who do not have company when they eat for example, those who have suffered loss or are far away from their loved ones.” One of the authors noted.
