Commercial baby food is full of Sugar and fillers, experts say

After baby food came under the scanner for lead content and other problems, it is once again in the news for the bad reasons. According to experts, the commercial baby foods out there are not good and contain high levels of sugar and fillers.

The conclusion was drawn out by Dr. Julia Bhosale who analysed samples from around 1500 products from Australia, New Zealand and United Kingdom. The amount of fillers and the sugar content were too high and it raises concerns.

“Considering these are for infants from 4 to 6 months of age and they’re the first foods they have tried, it is extremely worrying,” said Bhosale.
