Coronavirus is causing mayhem all-round the globe. The number of cases reported due to the viruses and the number of deaths is also on the rise. At the same time, there are a lot of questions regarding the same as well.
One such question is: Can you catch Coronavirus from Food?
The answer as of now is, No. While there is a lot that we do not know about the virus, as of now, the experts are saying that there is no evidence of the virus spreading through food items.
“We don’t really have any evidence that food or food packaging is a source for getting sick” said said Benjamin Chapman, a professor and food safety specialist at North Carolina State University via livescience.com.
But at the same time, experts claim that this is as per the knowledge that we have now, meaning that the same could change when conflicting information is received.
Due to this, it is recommended to take proper safety measures while buying and cleaning your food items. Always wash fruits and vegetables before using and wash your hands after handling packaged food items.
A lot of the potential health concerns due to food is already covered by the Food regulations but we should do our part as well to keep ourselves safe.
