The United States has extended its food and health aid to $169M and it is going to impact heavily on Ethiopia and Kenya.
The announcement regarding the extension was made by the government’s humanitarian relief agency, USAID. From the $169 million, around $137 million will go to Ethiopia which is struggling for food. The remaining amount will go to Kenya.
“With this new funding, the United States is scaling up emergency food assistance, while providing specialized nutrition supplies to treat malnourished children, and also furnishing safe drinking water and essential health services.” The announcement read.
