The foodies in India could be in for a tough time as the government is trying to enforce rules on how much the people could eat in restaurants.
A government official noted the same during an interview with one of India’s leading newspapers, Hindustan Times.
“If a person can eat only two prawns, why should he or she be served six? It’s wastage of food and also money people pay for something that they don’t eat,” he said during the interview.
Curbing the food waste is what the official points out as a reason but the way in which it was presented has resulted in a backlash from the foodies on various social media platforms.
