You might be surprised to hear this but McDonald’s French Fries could hold the key to curing baldness. The same was found by the researchers at Japan’s Yokohama National University. The researchers were able to grow hair follicles on mice with the help of the chemicals that were found in the French fries.
The research was carried out with the intention of transporting hair follicles to areas where there was no hair. Dimethylpolysiloxane, which is used as an anti-foaming agent in the French fries was crucial for the study.
“These self-sorted hair follicle germs were shown to be capable of efficient hair-follicle and shaft generation upon intracutaneous transplantation into the backs of nude mice,” reads an excerpt from the study.
Despite the finding, more studies are required before reaching a conclusion.
