Dark Lips: 3 Food Items You Should Try

Are you struggling with Dark Lips? Well, then you came to the right place.

A pigment called melanin is what gives the skin its color. Less melanin creates a lighter skin tone, whereas more melanin means a darker skin tone. Like skin tone, lip color can vary from person to person.

Some people develop darker lips over time due to a range of medical and lifestyle factors. One major cause is hyperpigmentation, a condition in which your body produces excess melanin.

Here are some effective home remedies to lighten your dark lips.

  • Coconut Oil: Coconut oil has moisturizing property. They can help keep your lips soft and supple. This keeps them from getting dry and darkened. Take a little coconut oil onto your index finger and apply to your lips. Leave it on to dry. Do this 1-2 times daily.
  • Honey and Sugar: This will gently exfoliate dead skin cells, which often give your lips an unpleasant appearance. Combine 1 tsp honey and 1 tsp sugar. Gently rub the mixture into the lips using small circular movements. Rinse it off using warm water.
  • Lemon and Almond Oil: This is an effective way to undo the sun damage on your lips and lighten them naturally. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon into 1 tsp of sweet almond oil. Mix them thoroughly. Lightly massage the mixture on your lips. Leave the mixture on your lips overnight.

The above tips may help lighten your lips. Also, drink plenty of water and keep your body hydrated. It also helps to maintain the light shade of your lips.
