Did you know how much water is required to make one hamburger?

If you are worried about climate change and wastage of water, you better stop eating a hamburger. According to research which was conducted by National Geographic, a 1/3 pound burger will require 660 gallons of water.

And a large portion of the 660 gallons is needed for the production of beef while bread also requires a lot of water. Elsewhere, 1 gallon of beer requires around 68 gallons of water while 1 gallon of wine requires around 1008 gallons of water.

In another shocking fact, 1 pound of chocolate requires around 3,170 gallons of water for production. So before you take extreme measures to save water, making small changes such as switching your hamburger for a vegetable burger can have a huge impact on the water situation.
