A new study has shown that the food we eat at the workplace is making us unhealthy. The study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has shown that a majority of the food available at the workplace isn’t healthy.
The results showed that such food items have lots of solid fats or added sugar. These food items are also rich in sodium and refined grain. Around 1300 calories are obtained from such food items on a weekly basis.
“Since we found that a lot of the foods obtained by employees were free, employers may also want to consider healthy meeting policies to encourage healthy food options at meetings and social events,” they concluded.
They also noted that the study would hopefully urge employers to make a sensible decision.
