The habit of dumping food items into the freezer is a common practice. Most of the time, we don’t even bother thinking about how it could impact the food.
There are certain items that you should not put in the freezer as it could lead to some unwanted results.
1: Whole Eggs – Freezing the egg could result in the yolk and white to expand. This in turn could result in cracks.
2: Potatoes – Potatoes tend to turn black if kept in the freezer as they have high water content. They are safer outsider the freezer, preferably in cool dark places.
3: Breadcrumbs: Breadcrumbs are used in many recipes but it’s important to keep them away from the freezer. Otherwise, they will turn soft and develops unpleasant texture.
4: Hot food: Having hot food in the freezer is not at all recommended. It can cause the temperature inside the freezer to lower and in turn allow bacteria to grow and spread.
