Food is a major problem in South Sudan

The United Nations has warned that South Sudan is in urgent need of food. War and a collapsing economy has resulted in famine in the nation and UN has noted that millions of people are in urgent need of food at the moment.

“Over a quarter of a million children are already severely malnourished. If we do not reach these children with urgent aid, many of them will die.”  said Jeremy Hopkins, a Unicef official in South Sudan.

Countless people have already died of hunger in the country and malnutrition rates are also going up at an alarming rate.
