What is the relationship between diet soda and colon cancer? On the surface, these two might sound like two extreme things but interestingly, drinking diet soda has an impact on cancer.
According to a new study, cancer patients who drink diet soda regularly have fewer chances of their tumour coming back. Such patients also have less chance of dying from the disease.
The study was funded by the US National Cancer Institute. And the conclusion was reached after examining more than 1000 cancer patients.
“Our study clearly shows they help avoid cancer recurrence and death in patients who have been treated for advanced colon cancer, and that is an exciting finding,” one of the authors noted.
Though this is exciting, the artificial sweeteners in diet soda could cause an entirely different list of health problems.
