Mayonnaise is something that has become a part of our daily life. But did you know that it can treat damaged hair even though your hair? Even though you might smell like Mayo, the smell lasts only for a little while, and it’s probably worth it.
If your goal is softer, shinier, smoother feeling hair, then mayonnaise may be a good match for you. Mayonnaise does contain some hair healthy ingredients like lemon juice, vinegar and soybean oil which contain fatty acids and vitamins that can boost shine and act to seal in moisture.
How to use a mayonnaise hair mask
- Apply mayo to freshly cleansed hair. Focus on the ends as they are the oldest part of your hair, and avoid your roots, especially if you have fine or thin hair.
- Put on a shower cap. Leave the mask on your hair for 15-30 minutes.
- Cleanse with a gentle shampoo to remove the mayonnaise from your hair.
It’s unlikely that a mayo mask would actually do any harm. The major exception would be if you have an allergy to any of the ingredients in mayonnaise, such as egg yolks. If so, avoid applying mayo on your hair. Otherwise, it is one of the best hair treatment methods
