High blood pressure is an issue that bothers a lot of people. It is quite common and can derail normal life routines. For the uninitiated, people with high blood pressure are usually recommended to decrease the intake of salt and sodium-rich food items.
And now, a new study has come out with an alternative to salt so that people with the condition can enjoy their food. And the alternative is Spice.
According to the study published in the American Heart Association’s journal Hypertension, people who eat spicy food appeared to eat less salt which in turn leads to lower blood pressure.
“If you add some spices to your cooking, you can cook food that tastes good without using as much salt. Yes, habit and preference matter when it comes to spicy food, but even a small, gradual increase in spices in your food may have a health benefit.” The study notes.
So if you are struggling with the condition, you should think about spicing up the food-making process.
