Everything is linked with the other. And even if you don’t believe it, the increase in food costs is linked to the health of our children. A research recently conducted in Malaysia has shown that there is a spike in the number of undernourished children in the nation as parents are struggling with high food prices.
“Food cost is high. Low and middle-income families are taking steps to reduce costs and make ends meet. This is especially so for those with many children,” Mary Easaw, chief dietitian at the National Heart Institute (IJN) told FMT.
The middle class is expected to be impacted badly by this connection and the numbers are apparently backing it up as well.
