How many eggs should you eat in a week? It is a question that most of us barely bother about. However, it is something you should be worried about. A new study published in the Journal of American Medical Association has revealed that over-consumption of eggs might result in heart issues.
According to the study, eating three eggs in a week is equivalent to 300 mg of cholesterol every day. This, in turn, increases the risk of fatal coronary heart ailments like stroke and heart attacks.
“This study was observational, which means conclusions have been drawn from large quantities of data. It shows there is an association between dietary cholesterol from foods like eggs and disease risk, but doesn’t prove it is cause and effect,” said a spokesman for the British Heart Foundation.
So next time someone asks you how many eggs should you eat in a week, it is best if you recommend below three.
