How much salt should you eat a day?
Well, it’s a question that we rarely ask ourselves. But since salt is a food item that can trigger many health issues, it’s about time you kept control on the same.
Eating too much salt can raise your blood pressure and this can result in heart diseases. About three-quarter of the salt we eat is already in the food like cereals, soups, bread and sauces that we buy.
An adult should not eat more than 6g of salt a day. And to keep yourself under the limit, you can take a look at the food labels. If your label shows 1.5g of salt per 100g, then it is a food item you should avoid as it has high salt content.
