Lack of food processing leads to food wastage in this country

The factors that contribute to food wastage are many. But in India, the India, the reason is lack of food processing. The second largest producer of food, the nation apparently has enough food but the lack of food processing is leading to food wastage according to Indian Institute of Packaging.

“India is the world’s second largest producer of food after China and yet, our per capita packaging consumption is less than $15 against the worldwide average of nearly $100. This is why a lot of food goes to waste,” a spokesperson said.
