According to a study published in the Journal Obesity, having a good belly laugh burns about the same calories as walking more than half a mile. This is because of the laugh’s ability to make the heart beat fast and work different muscles.
Interestingly, people who saw a funny film spent 20 percent more energy than people who were at rest. Not only this, laughter apparently also has the ability to lower blood pressure. So if you are too lazy to get out there and work out, have a good long laugh.
