Here is how much money families can save if ‘use by’ dates are removed from food

Getting rid of the ‘use by’ date can apparently save a huge amount for the households in the United Kingdom. According to a new research, the removal of the specification could result in an annual saving of around £600 million.

The research suggested that the over cautious labels lead to food wastage which in turn burns a huge hole in the pocket. Around 2 million tonnes of food is wasted every year due to the improper placement of the label and alternatives are being considered to overcome the issue.
