This nation has launched a £1m fund to make children’s food healthier

The Welsh Government has made a bold move to build a healthy generation of citizens. The country has launched a £1m fund to make kids’ food healthier and fight obesity.

The money would be available for companies and research organisations once they have proposed solutions which reduce the usage of salt, sugar and saturated fat in the food items for children.

“The Welsh food and drink industry can be proud of its record in innovation, in launching new products and driving up standards, and I’m now appealing to you to use your skills, talents and creativity, to tackle one of the greatest challenges of all – improving the diets of our children today, to enable them to become the healthy young adults of tomorrow.” The cabinet secretary for environment and rural affairs, Lesley Griffiths said.
