You should not skip meals to eat junk food, here’s why

Undernutrition and obesity are on the rise. And there’s a good reason for this. According to a study conducted by experts, the habit of skipping meals to eat junk food is one of the major reasons for increased undernutrition and obesity.

Though the packaged food comes with high sugar, salt and fat, the nutrition content in these are low. But at the same time, as it gets rid of your hunger, we often end up having no space for other nutritious meals. The researchers noted that the push from big corporates have a huge impact on this habit and added that we should keep a check on the habit.

“The food chain from farm to fork is controlled by increasingly few large corporates at every node pesticides, chemicals, seeds, processing, manufacture, retail and supply. Its important that we understand this and take action, otherwise we have a disaster in waiting,” one of the researchers noted.
