Obesity leads to cancer and diabetes, and here’s how it could be curbed

A study conducted in United Kingdom has shown that the fast food boom is making the nation unhealthier. The Charity Cancer research in UK conducted the research and figured out that more than 100 million ready meals are eaten on a weekly basis by the adults in United Kingdom.

“These figures show that ‘grab and go’ foods and a growing appetite for takeaways and ready meals are helping to propel us towards an epidemic of larger waistlines and increased cancer risk,” said Alison Cox, Cancer Research UK’s director of cancer prevention.

The research has urged the food industry to cut the calories, sugar and fat in such food items so as to reduce the unhealthy impact on the longer run.
