Pope buys food from local businesses to help farmers

Pope Francis’s alms-giver went on to buy a large amount of food items from the struggling local businesses as a mission to help the farmers. The shopping list included prosciutto, cheese and other locally produced food items.

The Vatican released a photo of Monsignor Konrad Krajewski posing with the food that he brought and mentioned that this is a gesture of the Pope’s belief that “when you can’t earn a living you lose your dignity.”

The food was later donated to the Roman Soup Kitchens.
