Processed food has been part of our daily life for quite some time now. It has been linked to many lifestyle diseases as well. These diseases include high blood pressure, high blood sugar, irregular sleep, anxiety and stress.
And now, a new study has revealed that such food items can also make you eat more. This can eventually lead to weight gain.
“Our data suggest that eliminating ultra-processed foods from the diet decreases energy intake and results in weight loss, whereas a diet with a large proportion of ultra-processed food increases energy intake and leads to weight gain,” the study notes.
