Most of the cooks out there would love to keep rats out of the kitchen. But a restaurant in Russia has rat on the menu.
Krasnodar Bistro, which is in Southern Russian serves rat burgers which are considered to be a delicacy. The burgers cost around £6.90 and are also available in some of the cafes in Moscow.
Takhir Kholikberdiev, who came up with the concept notes that people should not be squeamish about the dish.
‘It’s a really clean animal; not only is it a herbivore but it washes all its food before it eats. And it’s very high in omega-3 acids. A lot of doctors and dietitians recommend it,’ he said during an interview with The Guardian.
Surprisingly, the burger has managed to create some positive feedback from the customers.
