The people in Oaxaca city in southern Mexic is in love with a sauce made from flying ants.
The sauce is made from a type of flying ant called chicatanas. It comes out of the nest during spring and they are captured and used to make the sauce. The sauce is available in many high end restaurents and has attracted tourists as well.
“Its like it is literally raining ants. They fall from the sky, and you can sweep them up into big piles and then toast them on the comal” a native noted.
