Studies suggest that Nutella could cause cancer due to presence of Palm Oil

The European Food Safety Authority has come out with a new study that identified palm oil as a potential harmful food item that could be linked to causing cancer.

Palm Oil, if you didn’t know is one of the main ingredients of Nutella and the studies from EFSA, has caused a wide boycott of Palm oil due to health concerns.

Italian confectionery firm Ferrero, which produces Nutella, has come out against the studies and said the following.

‘Making Nutella without palm oil would produce an inferior substitute for the real product; it would be a step backward. The palm oil used by Ferrero is safe because it comes from freshly squeezed fruits and is processed at controlled temperatures,’
