Tesco could be facing some major legal threats in the near future thanks to their marketing. According to The Feedback Charity major UK Supermarkets like Tesco, Aldi, Asda and Lidl are using “fake farm” branding on meat products which are their own.
The charity claims that this is misleading the shoppers and also causing problems to the farms with the same name.
“Let’s be clear – supermarkets are selling meat under fake farm names, deliberately encouraging consumers to believe that the meat is sourced from small-scale producers. We believe this is peddling a load of bull.” said Feedback’s campaign director, Jessica Sinclair Taylor.
Owner of a farm called Woodside Farm is gearing up for a legal battle as his farm’s name was used by Tesco for their pork range since 2016.
