At one point or the other, all of us have come across KFC and enjoyed its taste, but most of us are not aware of the inspirational story of Colonel Sanders.

At the age of 65, Sanders was broke. He ran a restaurant for a major portion of his life and once he retired, he struggled to come across a constant income source. He lived on his social security check of 105 Dollars, but he was not ready to give up.

Sanders had a fried chicken recipe with him and decided to offer his recipe to restaurants across the nation. He used to travel in his old car and offered restaurant owners the recipe if they gave him a portion of the sales.

Guess what; over a thousand restaurants rejected him.

The first deal he received was when a restaurant agreed to give him a nickel for every piece of chicken they sold. The sales almost tripled and everyone now wanted to take in the Fried Chicken recipe of Sanders.

In 1964, almost 600 franchises sold the fried chicken recipe of Sanders. He sold the company for 2 Million dollars but remained as the company’s spokesperson.

Colonel Sanders passed away in 1980 at the age of 90, but even today, his popularity is one the rise. Who would have thought that a retired 65 year old could start a fried chicken empire?

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the power of perseverance and hard work.
