If you are in Belgium and want to drink some beer, head over to the bar and trade your shoe. Due to the rise of thefts in the pubs and bars, some of the bars in the country has come out with the concept of keeping shoes of their customers as collateral.
Once the customer finishes drinking and pays the bill, the shoes will be given back.
Interestingly, some people have walked out of the bar bare-foot but still, most of the owners do not discriminate when it comes to the type of shoes.
“We actually accept all kinds of shoes, but we realize that a flip-flop is not as valuable as the beer glass.” One of the owners noted.
