Weekends are the best time of the week if you are a foodie. There is a chance to cook and enjoy some delicious recipes along with experimenting with some others. Recipes that are worth cooking in the weekend are plenty and this time around, we have decided to come up with the Herbed Faux-Tisserie Chicken And Potatoes recipe which recreates the texture of Rotisserie Chicken. The slow roasted dish is sure to give a treat for your taste buds so here is the recipe.

Herbed Faux-Tisserie Chicken

Ingredients needed for the dish are:

  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons fennel seeds
  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh marjoram
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 3½–4 pound chicken
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 head of garlic

To make the recipe, first preheat the oven to about 300 degree. Then, grind the fennel seeds and red pepper flakes coarsely. Combine this mixture with chopped thyme, a tablespoon of salt, 3 table spoon of oil, half table spoon of pepper and chopped marjoram.

Rub the chicken inside the new spice mixture and stuff it with lemon, garlic, some marjoram and thyme sprigs as well. Then tie the legs of the Chicken with twine.

In a baking sheet, Season the potatoes in with pepper and salt after placing it in 3 table spoons of oil. Scatter the marjoram and thyme sprigs in the baking sheet and place the Chicken on the herbs. Slowly roast the chicken until the skin turns brown and meat is tender. Let the chicken sit 10 minutes before serving.
