The pros of having high food price

Food price has been a topic of debate for a long time. While there are people who argue that lower food prices make food more accessible to everyone around, there are certain pros for the high food prices as well according to a study carried out by Oxfam and the Institute of Development Studies.

The study came up with the conclusion that higher food studies resulted in a permanent transformation which had huge implication on the aid policy. Meanwhile, another study suggested that high food prices encouraged more investment in farming.

Such investment in farming opened up new opportunities for rural people and in turn helps them earn. Farmers also benefited with the new capital and found new techniques to produce more food.

However, higher prices does have its problems as it was also found to produce an intense situation where people were forced to work more hours to earn money.
