Global Food prices fall for fifth year in a row

The Latest data from 2016 shows that the global food price has fallen for the fifth year in a row. Compared to 2015, the food prices have dropped 1.5 percent this year according to a new report from the United Nations.

Cereal price in particular showed a steady decline over the past year whereas sugar and vegetable prices showcased a rise. The sugar price rose by 34.2 when vegetable oils rose by 11.4 percent. In certain regions, the dairy prices also saw a significant rise in 2016.
