This city has set up a community fridge to feed the needy

Community Fridge is feeding the needy in Mumbai, India. After being set up recently, the community fridge, which hands out an Indian dish called Poha, is feeding around 300 people on a daily basis.

“The fridge doesn’t only cater to the underprivileged. As this is a commercial hub, loaders, autorickshaw drivers and BMC workers also stop by to grab a bite when they’re hungry,” says Preethi Kurana, who was responsible for setting up the fridge.

And to ensure that there is no wastage of food; CCTV cameras have been set up by the residents around the area. The community fridge model has been introduced in various parts of Mumbai as of now and is turning out to be a huge success as of now.
