Here is the reason why apples float

Ever tried putting an apple in water? If you have, you probably know that they float in water. And if you haven’t tried; go ahead and give it a try next time you get your hands on an apple.

And there is a reason behind this phenomenon as well. Apples can float because around 25 percent of their volume is air. This makes them less dense than water and in turn, makes them float. So if you complain about your Lays packets having a high air content, think about how much air comes with one apple.
