Here is the relationship between type of roast and caffeine content in coffee

The caffeine content in coffee is that brings most of us back to the beverage every time. While there are a lot of things that decide the caffeine content in coffee, the type of roast is one of the most important ones.

If the coffee beans are lightly roasted, it means that it has the highest caffeine content. It will have a more distinct flavor and at the same time a light brown color.


Medium roasts are usually preferred in the United States and they have slightly less caffeine content when compared to light roasts. Medium dark roast coffee beans have even less caffeine and dark roast coffees have the least amount of caffeine.
