How apples can protect your bones

Did you know that apples are effective when it comes to strengthening your bones? This is perhaps one of the least discussed health benefits of the fruit out there. And there could be a reason for this as well.

The bone-strengthening happens due to the apple skin rather than the apple flesh. The skin contains a flavanoid called phlorizin which can prevent the bone loss associated with menopause.

This compound has the ability to fight inflammation and also reduces the production of free radicals which are known to degenerate the bones.
