Why raw onion is served alongside dishes in India

If you have tried the Indian cuisine, you probably would’ve come across the usage of onions in it. Even though they have the ability to make us cry, onions play a huge part in making the Indian cuisine stand out.

Apart from using them for cooking, in most cases, raw onions are served with dishes in restaurants and diners.

There is a reason behind this as well. The onions contain allicin and bioflavonoid quercetin which is known for protecting the lungs. The raw onions also support your heart health.
