Why you become angry when you are hungry

Hunger and anger are two words that are closely associated. The temperament of people often shoots up when they are hungry and there is a scientific reason behind this.

Starting from the basics, food is fuel for our brain. And it is responsible for energizing the cells in our body. The scarcity of food leads to nutrient depletion and our body goes into stress mode. Our body ends up mistaking that our body is going into a famine due to the non-availability of food.

This, in turn, produces more cortisol that leads to anger. So next time you get angry due to hunger, quickly grab a bite and get things back to normal.
