Watermelon is not considered to be a superfood. It does have its health benefits, but then again, it rarely gets categorized into the ‘superfood’ category. However, in summer, watermelons are indeed a food item that you should not ignore.

The lack of calories is what makes Watermelons most attractive. They only carry 30 calories and have zero saturated fat. Watermelons can keep you hydrated for a long time as it contains 92 percent water.

 

One least talked about the benefit of watermelon is how they are good for muscle soreness and recovery. It is a good post-workout food if you have a plan of sweating it out in the summer.
