Australian families are apparently facing issues with food according to a new report by the Food Bank.
Due to the rise in the cost of living, a shocking 22 percent of Australian children have been living in food-insecure homes for the past one year. This, in turn, equates to around one in five kids in the country.
The figure is shocking considering the lengths to which the parents usually go to keep the food on the table. Initiatives like the food banks have been pushing hard to solve the problem as well.
“A lot of the families that are in that situation, the parents will go without eating a meal. In some instance parents won’t eat for the entire day.” one representative noted.
