Glycemic index might sound like an alien term for the regular foodies. But it holds paramount importance if you have diabetes.

So for the uninitiated, Glycemic index is the value assigned to food items based on the speed in which they raise blood sugar levels. So if the value is high, it has an adverse impact on people with diabetes.

Though it’s not recommended to completely eliminate certain food items with high glycemic index, it would be better to consume them in moderation.

Below are some food items with high glycemic index

  • Watermelon
  • Honey

  • French Fries
  • Bananas
