The Pickle soft serve which is available in Dumpling Co. in New York City is making headlines. Primarily made out of cucumber, the soft serve ice cream also has a hint of tanginess which makes it taste like a half-sour pickle.
And if you think it is being presented as a regular dessert, think again.
It is being pushed as a palate cleanser for the restaurant’s other spicy dishes and is gaining popularity as well. Although the selling point is ‘pickle’, the recipe makes use of un-pickled pressed cucumber as the core ingredient.
Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see if pickle ice-cream picks up the pace and spreads to other parts of the world.
