Here is a myth about natural sugar that got busted

Just about everything you put into your mouth has sugar.  While baking a cake we might prefer natural products like honey. We consider it less harmful than processed sugar. But is really that different?

“Scientists would be surprised to hear about the ‘clear superiority’ of honey since there is a near-unanimous consensus that the biological effect of high-fructose corn syrup is essentially the same as those of honey,” professor Alan Levinovitz

So the honey is no different from the high-fructose corn syrup in your energy bars. But the only difference is to be cautious when munching on a chocolate bar. The calories per serving are more for products with processed sugar in them. So be it fruits like an apple or a round donut, they both have sugar that affects us the same.
