Lentils: Why you should include it in your diet

Lentils contain protein, iron, zinc, and biotin. They are a super-food that is perfect for vegetarians and vegans since they are a great source of protein.

And it is great for hair growth. Without enough protein for keratin, hair grows more slowly, and the individual strands that do grow, are weaker. They also have folate, phosphorus, potassium, and fiber.


It contain the third-highest amount of protein of any legume, following soybeans and hemp. The iron present in it helps restore the health of red blood cells that supply skin and scalp with hair-improving oxygen. Lack of iron can lead to slower hair growth and even hair loss.

The iron found in meat is more easily absorbed by the body than iron-rich plant foods, so finding plant sources containing high iron like lentils is important. The folate in the food item is a B vitamin that helps your body to make new cells and strengthen the hair.

There are several types of lentils as well. Among them, hulled type have less fiber than green or brown one. They do not need to be soaked before cooking. They can be cooked. They can be cooked in water or broth.

The insoluble fiber in the food item stabilizes blood sugar levels, making it a diabetes-friendly ingredient. It also increase the energy reserves of the body.
