Microwave: 3 Food Items that you should avoid reheating

Microwave, at the moment, is something that we use all the time at our homes. Most us find the easy way out and reheat the food we have multiple times rather than making the fresh food or we probably have no other option.

While this is indeed something that we can rely upon, not all food items are meant to be reheated in the microwave. Certain food items, when reheated can cause a lot of issues and we will be listing three such food items below.

  • Potatoes: Potatoes, when reheated, increases the chances of food poisoning. Keeping them at room temperature could lead to bacteria growth in the vegetable which is the last thing you would want.
  • Rice: If you are reheating rice that is kept in room temperature, you are likely to be exposed to many bacteria. However, refrigerating your rice immediately after cooking and then reheating reduces the abovementioned risk.
  • Mushrooms: Mushrooms, in general, are a risky food item at this time. And reheating them can shoot up this risk. It contains many micronutrients which when kept at room temperature and reheated, can cause problems to your body.

Apart from these three, it is also good to avoid the reheating of oil, seafood, hot pepper and kale among other food items as well.
